A Boeing 737-800 owned by Pegasus Airlines has overrun a runway at the Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul. The aircraft appears to have broken into three pieces, but the Turkish Transport Minister has said that there has been no loss of life. It appears several people have been injured.

The flight PC2293 departed from Izmir, 350 km south west of Istanbul, carrying 177 passengers and six crew. The aircraft landed in heavy rain. A small fire ignited but was quickly extinguished and the airport has now been closed.

This is the second incident in a month involving Pegasus; on 7th January another 737-800 had a runway excursion at the same airport.

This is a developing story. We will update as further details emerge.
