Jetblue has recently announced the launch of the Blueprint by JetBlue, a platform to improve the in-flight traveller experience with new entertainment functions for the passenger’s journey; some of the implemented entertainment features of the Blueprint platform have never been used in U.S. airlines before.
Blueprint to Provide Optimised In-flight Traveller Experience
Jetblue’s new in-flight platform aims to help boost passengers’ experience during Jetblue flights. According to the airline, the platform with amazing features will give travellers more customizability during their travel journey. Currently, the features are to be available on the latest Airbus A320s, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A321LR and Airbus A220.
The platform also aims to provide passengers with an experience that allows them access to features they would have in the comfort of their home with a touchscreen seatback.
The first feature is called “Watch Party” a feature that gives the passenger the possibility of watching the same movie or TV show with other passengers on the flight and the chance to watch films with up to 5 other travelers, making passengers feel at home enjoying the family time style of watching TV. The feature allows passengers to pause the movie and control the screen regardless of where they sit during the flight.
Additionally, the platform features content recommendations, where the passengers will receive personal recommendations based on previous watch history and can also return to the exact moment the show is left on another flight; the traveller can save all customisation, such as language, volume, and favourite shows, for their next flight.
In partnership with steaming partner Peacock, the choice of films available varies from Universal Pictures to Hollywood’s biggest studio films, giving travellers a variety of options.
Additional Jetblue in-flight Features
Jetblue cares about providing a personalised experience for its customers, not only with in-flight entertainment but also a recognised personalised service during the flight.
They also give travellers personal greetings, which they can change to their preferred name on their travel profile with a personal welcome message. Furthermore, when passengers travel on their birthdays, Jetblue offers a complimentary drink for passengers over 21 years old and displays confetti graphics on their seatback screens, an amazing initiative to celebrate their birthdays, showing their commitment to great customer service.
They also offer customised seatback ordering options for meal selections. Hence, travellers have easier access to their meal orders. Additionally, Jetblue provides travellers access to information regarding Jetblue flight connections and respective gates.
Despite the airlines’ latest news about increasing baggage fees with peak and off-peak pricing(as a strategy to increase the airline’s profitability), Jetblue is very committed to improving customers’ personalised experience during flights.
Jayne O’Brien, head of marketing and customer support of JetBlue, commented:
“By launching Blueprint by JetBlue, we are doubling down on our commitment to help customers create an inflight experience tailored to their needs and preferences, making their flight as comfortable as their own living rooms.”
