After 23 years of service, Blue Islands step down as regional flight service

Passenger services for Blue Islands started in 2002, and connected the Channel Islands to destinations such as: Dublin, East Midlands, Exeter,  Newcastle, Norwich, Paris, Southampton and Bruges.

The airline was first known as Le Cocq’s Air link, and later rebranded in 2006 to Blue Islands. They held bases in Guernsey and Jersey, providing affordable and quick flights across the UK.

Over 100 employees at Blue Islands have lost jobs amid the closure

Nearly 100 employees worked at Blue Islands prior to closure, with many employees reportedly finding out about their redundancy through news reports.

The news comes shortly after regional airline Eastern Airways also suspended their flights in late October.

The Blue Islands websites reads:

‘We regret to inform you that Blue Islands has suspended trading effective on 14 November 2025. All future flights operated by Blue Islands have been cancelled.

Please do not travel to the airport unless you have made alternative travel arrangements. We deeply regret the inconvenience that this will bring to your travel plans’
