Singapore Airlines will begin daily services between SIN and HGH from June 1, 2026, subject to regulatory approval. The move marks the carrier’s continued expansion in mainland China, adding Hangzhou as its ninth destination in the country.

Flight Schedule and Aircraft Details

The airline said tickets will go on sale progressively from March 23 through its distribution channels. The new service is expected to cater to both business and leisure demand on the busy Singapore–China corridor.

The inaugural flight, SQ838, is scheduled to depart Singapore at 17:40 local time, arriving in Hangzhou at 22:50 the same day. The return service, SQ839, will leave Hangzhou at 00:10, landing in Singapore at 05:10.

Flights will be operated using the medium-haul Airbus A350-900, configured with 303 seats, including 40 in business class and 263 in economy. The aircraft is commonly deployed on regional and medium-haul routes within Asia.

Expanding Presence in Mainland China

Singapore Airlines‘ new route will complement existing daily services by Scoot, the group’s low-cost arm, on the same sector. From June 2026, the SIA Group will serve 22 destinations in mainland China, reinforcing its position in the market.

Hangzhou, located in the Yangtze River Delta, is both a major tourism centre and a growing technology hub. The city is known for landmarks such as West Lake and its role in China’s e-commerce sector.

An SIA spokesperson said the additional service is aimed at improving connectivity and offering more travel options between Singapore and key Chinese cities.
