Air Canada has launched a new transatlantic route between Montréal and Edinburgh, with the first inaugural flight touching down this week.

New Destinations
This Montréal to Edinburgh route is not the first new route that Air Canada has launched this summer. Earlier in the month, the airline officially started flying to new destinations; Prague, Porto, and Naples.
This new transatlantic route touched down on June 27 at Edinburgh airport and was welcomed with a bagpiper and official ceremony led by Air Canada’s Managing Director of International Sales, Rocky Lo, who said:
“We are thrilled to be taking to the skies with our latest transatlantic route from the Scottish capital to our home hub, Montréal, just in time for summer.”
Adding that, “Edinburgh is an important destination for Air Canada, thanks to the strong cultural ties between Scotland and Canada, so we are proud to be solidifying our presence in the market with the new route, working with our partners at Edinburgh Airport.”
The airline is very proud to launch this new direct route, with Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer and President Cargo, saying:
“This new connection between Canada and Scotland deepens our ties and commitment to the UK market. Our Montreal-Edinburgh flights are designed to connect our customers across North America conveniently to Edinburgh with seamless travel through our Montréal hub. Whether visiting Scotland to reunite with friends and loved ones, explore its historic castles, enjoy the vibrant arts scene, or welcoming visitors from Scotland eager to discover the vast beauty and diversity of Canada, our flights make it easier than ever to experience all that our two nations have to offer.”
