Today and continuing into tomorrow, Portsmouth’s seas are the centre of all excitement and chatter as SailGP brings forward intense racing and elite sailing. The event will see action right on the waterfront as Dylan Fletcher’s team – Emirates GBR – seeks victory at home. Emirates sponsors the occasion as Title Partner of the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix Portsmouth, Global Partner and Exclusive Airline Partner of SailGP, and Naming Partner of the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team.

‘Sail Better’

Aside from vast sponsorship branding across the event, Emirates have organised ‘sail better’ moments that will further boost fan experiences. This includes the chance to win a holiday for two to Dubai. Courtesy of Emirates Holidays, this grand prize comprises roundtrip Emirates Economy Class tickets and a five-night stay.

The airline’s cabin crew will also be on-site to capture photos, taking Polaroids for sailing fans and gifting them with a snapshot souvenir. Emirates’ guests from the Rolex SailGP Adrenaline Lounge can also enjoy exclusive tours of the Emirates Great Britain SailGP Team tech base in Portsmouth, getting close to the impressive wing-sailed boats and even the athletes too.

For those who are set to fly and worry they might miss the sailing action, Emirates’ passengers can catch the intense competition on-board on Sport 24 and Sport 24 Extra. The airline will also feature ‘Racing on the Edge’ – a docuseries that goes behind-the-scenes of SailGP.

Team Emirates GBR

Earlier this month, Emirates invited Emirates GBR team members, Dylan Fletcher, Hannah Mills, and Kai Hockley to the Emirates World Travel Store in South Kensington. The athletes participated in interesting challenges, such as a SailGP-inspired game of Articulate – all the while enjoying a slice of the airline’s travel experience as they played in a A380 Onboard Lounge. You can watch the fun below!

Emirates Team Great Britain merchandise (such as shirts, jackets, and sunhats) can be purchased in-store and online. For avid sports fans, you can also buy merchandise from other Emirates’ sponsored events – including Wimbledon, and NBA – and football teams, such as AC Milan and Arsenal.

Will you be attending SailGP this year? Let us know about your time and if you enjoy your fan experience with Emirates’ sponsorship.
