The ePlane Company has signed multiple partnerships covering avionics, wiring, composites and cabin interiors, as its e200X electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft gears up for certification. The agreements were announced at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026.

Suppliers Announced
The announcement follows the recent unveiling of the company’s first prototype, PT-01, which will move into ground testing ahead of full-scale flight trials, with certified test flights targeted for mid-2027. According to the company, the e200X has received commitments for more than 800 aircraft, with a significant portion of demand tied to emergency medical transport, where it is expected to cut patient transfer times significantly.
Among the agreements is a memorandum of understanding with SASMOS HET Technologies covering the e200X’s Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS). The two companies will explore cooperation on high-voltage power distribution units, motor controllers and electronic speed controllers. Another agreement names Ankit Aerospace, a firm that already supplies the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
Germany‘s HENSOLDT Avionics continues to supply the avionics suite and flight radar under a partnership first announced earlier this year, covering navigation and flight management. Composites such as carbon fibre and glass fibre materials are supplied by Azista Composites, essential for the e200X’s airframe and radome, with the company also working with ePlane on material specifications for its composite structures.
Professor Satya Chakravarthy, founder and chief technology officer of the ePlane Company, said the agreements reflected the depth of the ecosystem being built around the aircraft.
“These partnerships reflect the strength and depth of the ecosystem we’re building around the e200X. From wiring and fasteners to avionics, composites, and interiors, each of these relationships strengthens our path toward a certifiable, Made-in-India electric aircraft.”

Building Towards Certification
Founded in 2019 and incubated at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, ePlane is developing the e200X under a Make in India approach, with manufacturing and testing based at an integrated facility near Chennai. The company holds Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, making it the first private Indian aerospace organisation to receive DOA for electric aircraft, and the e200X is the first eVTOL accepted into the regulator’s type certification process. The company’s board includes Aditya Ghosh, former president of IndiGo and co-founder of Akasa Air, alongside founder and CTO Satya Chakravarthy.
The aircraft is built around ePlane’s proprietary “Synergistic Lift” architecture, designed to allow operations from existing helipads rather than purpose-built vertiports, and is aimed at three markets: urban passenger transport, air ambulance services and middle-mile cargo.
