Avianca has announced an expanded flight schedule for the peak mid-year travel season, with more than 71,000 flights and over 12.5 million seats available between June and August. The airline has said the increased capacity will support demand across its network of more than 160 routes serving over 80 destinations in more than 25 countries across the Americas and Europe.

More seasonal routes

Among the seasonal additions is the return of nonstop flights between New York and Pereira, operating four times a week from June to August. The airline is also operating seasonal services between California and New York, California and Miami, Guatemala City and Chicago and more. Additional flights have also been added from San Salvador to Las Vegas, Chicago and Madrid.

David Aleman, Avianca’s sales director, said the airline’s network and range of travel options would help meet seasonal demand.

“At Avianca, we have an extensive network and a distinct service offering that allow us to meet demand this season. We provide travellers with a range of travel options, from Economy to Business Class, designed to meet their needs.”

World Cup connectivity

The airline also highlighted its network during this year’s FIFA World Cup, having over 400 weekly flights linking the United States with Mexico, Canada and other Central and South American countries. According to Avianca, its network serves 10 of the 16 host cities.

With demand expected to remain high, Avianca has released several recommendations for passengers, including only booking through official channels and checking in early for flights.
