EgyptAir is set to commence direct flights to Cairo (CAI) from Birmingham Airport (BHX). Starting from Tuesday 27th October, the year-round service will operate four times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Perfect Year Round Escape
The service is the only direct route to Cairo (CAI) from Birmingham (BHX), with travellers previously having to catch a connecting flight via hubs such as Frankfurt (FRA) or Istanbul (IST).
Matt Hazelwood, Chief Commercial Officer of Birmingham Airport said:
“We are delighted to connect our passengers directly to a bucket-list destination like Cairo, a city that effortlessly blends thousands of years of incredible history with a contemporary culture, via our new partnership with EGYPTAIR. This route will strengthen our Egyptian offering, providing greater choice for our customers direct from Birmingham Airport.”
Captain Mohamed Elian of EgyptAir also commented on the service:
“Expanding our footprint in the UK by adding Birmingham to our route map reflects our commitment to a market that holds tremendous significance for EGYPTAIR with operating 4 weekly flights between the two cities onboard our newest B737MAX8. Cairo serves as a magnificent gateway, and with this new service, we are making it easier than ever for both business and leisure travellers to experience Egypt. Beyond the capital, our extensive domestic network offers optimized connectivity, allowing passengers to step off their flight from Birmingham and quickly find themselves relaxing on the Red Sea coast or exploring the timeless treasures of Upper Egypt.”
Cairo is the latest addition to the airport’s Egyptian network, alongside Hurghada (HRG) and Sharm El-Sheikh (SSH).
The flights, which will be operated using the airlines‘ brand new Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft, are available to book now.
