Qatar Airways will begin operating new scheduled services to Caracas (CCS) in Venezuela and Bogotá (BOG) in Colombia from July 22, 2026, further extending its network in the Americas. The introduction of these routes adds direct connectivity between the Middle East and northern South America via Doha. The new services are part of ongoing adjustments to the airline’s long-haul network and will increase the number of destinations served across the region.
New South America services and operational structure
The airline will operate two weekly flights connecting Doha with Bogotá and Caracas, with both cities included on the same routing. Services are scheduled to operate on Wednesdays and Sundays, forming a consistent weekly pattern.
The route structure includes stops in Bogotá and Caracas on both outbound and return journeys. With these additions, the two cities become the 15th and 16th destinations in the Americas served by Qatar Airways.
The airline first entered the South American market in 2010 with flights to São Paulo, gradually expanding its presence in the region.
Connectivity via Doha and network integration
The new services will operate through Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, which serves as the airline’s central connecting hub. From there, passengers can connect to destinations across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania.
The schedule has been designed to integrate with the wider global network, supporting onward travel options between South America and other international markets. This reflects continued changes in long-haul route planning and hub-based connectivity models.
The expansion also adds capacity on routes linking South America with the Middle East, an area that has seen gradual growth in intercontinental traffic flows.
The addition of Caracas and Bogotá to Qatar Airways’ network extends its footprint in South America and introduces new routing options between the region and the Middle East via Doha.
