A new president of the ANA, All Nippon Airways, has been appointed as a result of larger changes to its senior management sector, within the board of directors. Mr. Juichi Hirasawa, current Executive Vice President and Executive Director, is expected to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer from April 1st, 2026. He will be replacing Mr. Shinichi Inoue, who is stepping down from the position at 68 years old.
Why Hirasawa?
Mr. Hirasawa, a graduate of Keio University, has been with the ANA ever since 1986. Across the years he has held multiple positions, mostly under strategic planning and corporate strategy. At 62, he is currently undertaking responsibilities covering relations with the Japanese government, industrial policy and economic security.
All Nippon Airways has said that Mr Hirasawa has “played a pivotal role in formulating and executing management strategies” during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating strong leadership and guidance, qualities valued by the company.
