American Airlines announces its reconnection to Venezuela for the first time since suspending services in 2019, becoming one of the first airlines to do so.
American Airlines Becomes The First To Reinstate Venezuela Flights
American Airlines announces plans to reinstate service to Venezuela, which was suspended in 2019, with flights set to begin once federal government approval and security assessments are complete.
Returning the service in the next couple of months and remaining in close contact with the federal government, flights will offer business, leisure, and humanitarian opportunities for passengers to and from the region.
The airline first began flying to Venezuela in 1987 and was one of the largest serving carriers in the region, providing crucial, non-stop links for leisure and business.
Nat Pieper, American Airlines’ chief commercial officer, celebrated the reconnection of the two regions saying:
“We have a more than 30-year history connecting Venezolanos to the U.S., and we are ready to renew that incredible relationship.”
American Airlines Works Closely To Reconnect With The Region
American Airlines has said it will work closely with security and regulatory agencies, key stakeholders, and others to ensure safe travel for staff and passengers when services resume.
“By restarting service to Venezuela, American will offer customers the opportunity to reunite with families and create new business and commerce with the United States.”
