Birmingham Airport Recognised for Leisure Travel

At the annual British Travel Awards, Birmingham Airport was recognised as ‘Best UK Airport For Leisure Travel (Medium-sized)’, following a significant milestone year that saw nine record-breaking months of passenger traffic at the airport.

The accolade won by the airport follows their ongoing transformation, which has also seen the opening of several new eateries and the introduction of key popular destinations from the airport.

The award voted by the public recognises BHX’s spirit to put the customer experience first, and their dedication to connecting the Midlands to over 12o popular leisure destinations.

Al Titterington, Terminal Operations Director at Birmingham Airport, celebrates their win of this award and thanks their dedicated customers:

“We’re honoured that Birmingham Airport been named Best UK Airport for Leisure Travel at the British Travel Awards 2025. Voted for by travellers themselves, this award is a testament to our ever-growing route network providing choice and convenience, as well as our continued investment into our airport which is undoubtedly resulting in significant enhancements to passenger experience. Thank you to all our colleagues for their continued hard work in ensuring our passengers have a positive experience at BHX and many thanks to our supporters for awarding us with this wonderful accolade.”

More to come for Birmingham Airport.

Birmingham Airport also announced ongoing transformation plans for the airport, including the introduction of Birmingham-based chain ‘The Indian Brewery Company’ , which will open up at the airport with a new airside eatery.

Significant operational and airfield transformation will also be underway, including light fixture replacements, taxiways, and runway works.
