Vertical Aerospace, developers of electric flying taxis announced that they are planning to fly taxis in London from 2028.

Flying taxis in London:
Valo aircraft, electric flying taxis is currently undergoing testing will be an alternative option to taxis claims the developers Vertical Aerospace.
The developers said it would fly up to 150mph and also an environmental safe. Valo can reduce the journey time of people in London and a more sustainable mode of transport, says Vertical Aerospace at a launch event.
The aircraft is yet to get approval from the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the European Aviation Safety Authority (EASA).
After the approval, the developers are planning to start Valo from Canary Wharf. It is a piloted aircraft will be able to travel up to 100 miles.
Valo can take off vertically and can accommodate up to six passengers. Stuart Simpson, the CEO of Vertical Aerospace, said,
“Electric flight will transform how cities move, and London is one of the best places in the world to prove it. These plans show the commercial potential of services we aim to see operating following regulatory approval in 2028, and we look forward to bringing them to life with our partners.”

Affordable Valo Aircrafts:
Vertical Aerospace claimed that valo will cost passengers the same price as the black cab. The developers have set their aim to manufacture 175 flying taxis by 2030.
A spokesperson for Vertical said:
“Like all new technology, Vertical Aerospace expects its aircraft will initially be a premium product used for airport transfers, but will evolve and become very affordable once production grows. Ultimately, the potential is for this aircraft to be a similar cost as hiring an Uber.”
According to BBC London transport correspondent Tom Edwards, the engines of the electric aircraft are cheaper, simpler and easier to maintain when compared to the helicopters.
Tom also mentioned that the manufacturers are keen to fly taxis in the skies of London by 2028 and also he claimed it depends on the investment raised for the idea. Tom said,
“How it pans out probably depends as much on raising more investment as the technology. But the company are confident these electric machines will be in the skies of London by 2028.”
