Emirates Skywards is marking its silver jubilee with style. The loyalty programme of Emirates and flydubai has reached its 25th year and is celebrating with a specially painted Airbus A380 and a month of prizes for its 37 million members. From a 25 million miles raffle to airport surprises at Dubai International (DXB), the airline is pulling out all the stops.

A Silver Livery Takes Flight

Next month, a one-of-a-kind Airbus A380 will take to the skies with a shimmering silver design to mark the occasion. The aircraft is expected to appear on routes across Emirates’ global network, carrying the Skywards story from Dubai to destinations in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America and beyond. The special livery has been created to stand out, both in the air and on the ground, as a tribute to a quarter century of loyalty.

For Emirates, this is more than just paint on metal. The design represents the extraordinary growth of Skywards since its launch in 2000, when it began with only 76,000 members.

Loyalty by the Numbers

Today the programme counts more than 37 million members in over 190 countries. Around 78,000 new members sign up each week. Partnerships have expanded to include over 100 airlines, hotels, banks and lifestyle brands, giving travellers ways to earn and spend miles across 1,400 destinations and 30,000 hotels.

Since its launch, members have redeemed close to 400 billion miles on flights, upgrades and experiences. Every day, more than 120,000 transactions earn Skywards Miles, and over 800 Classic Rewards are redeemed on Emirates flights alone.

Dr Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates Skywards, said the anniversary is about recognising members:

“Emirates Skywards is a true success story – one that was born in Dubai and has now become one of the most recognised and loved loyalty programmes in the world. What better way to celebrate than by giving back to our community with 25 days of nonstop surprises and offers – all while taking our loyalty message global with the special Emirates A380 ‘25 years’ livery.”

25 Days of Giveaways

From 25 September to 20 October, Skywards members can take part in a global anniversary campaign.

Highlights include:

  • 25 Million Miles Raffle: Prizes of 100,000 and 250,000 Skywards Miles, with one grand prize of one million Miles. Members can enter simply by earning Miles during the campaign.

  • Bonus Miles Offers: Up to 50 per cent bonus Miles when booking with Emirates and flydubai, and 25 per cent bonuses with partner airlines, hotels, retailers and dining outlets.

  • Airport Surprises at DXB: Interactive quizzes with instant prizes, complimentary lounge access, Duty Free vouchers and branded Skywards ice cream trucks for passengers in Terminals 2 and 3.

  • “Spot the Tag” Rewards: Special luggage tags on selected bags at DXB will unlock lounge access, Emirates merchandise and bonus Miles.

  • Premium Member Perks: Long-standing Silver, Gold and Platinum members can expect extra rewards, from cabin upgrades to anniversary gifts.

The campaign is designed as a thank you to loyal travellers who have helped the programme grow from a local initiative into a global brand.

A Silver Jubilee with a Golden Future

Emirates Skywards has already been named Best Global Airline Loyalty Programme at the International Loyalty Awards 2025. The silver A380 is set to become the symbol of its next chapter, a reminder that loyalty has wings.

Make your miles count. Keep an eye out for the silver A380 on your next trip and share your sightings with Travel Radar. And if you are a Skywards member, now is the time to check your account – there may be a surprise waiting.
