The successful operation of Malaysia Airline flight MH2610 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu on 17 September 2025 marked a major achievement in Malaysia Aviation Group’s (MAG) commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), as the entire flight was operated by an all-women team.

An all-female crew
From every touchpoint of the travel experience, this special service brought together a female workforce from across MAG’s operations: to check-in and ground handling teams at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport), to engineering and security personnel, the cabin crew, and the operating pilots on the flight deck.
Commanding the Boeing 737-800 aircraft were Captain Noorsazrina Binti Zulkifli, who has logged over an impressive 8,200 flight hours across domestic and international routes, and Second Officer Siti Noor Syamire Binti Baharuddin, a rising talent recently qualified on the aircraft type. They were supported by in-flight supervisor, Kulisia Anak Jipem, who led a five-women cabin crew delivering Malaysia Airline’s signature Malaysian Hospitality.
The all-women flight has been well received by both passengers and the aviation community. The flight reflects MAG’s ingoing steps in commitment to building a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace and inspire more women to pursue a career in aviation.

Empowering women to touch the skies
MAG is a part of the growing global initiative 25by2025 led by IATA to enhance DEI in the aviation industry, a sector that has traditionally been dominated by men, and aims to improve female representation in the industry by 25% by the end of 2025.
Today, MAG’s female workforce accounts for 36% of the organisation, already exceeding the 25% goal.
Boo Hui Yee, Chairperson of Women@MAG – a movement promoting gender diversity and empowerment across the organisation – who is also MAG’s Chief Financial Officer, said:
“We hope this momentum will inspire more women to purpose technical and flight operations roles, where their contributions are vital to the future of aviation.
Today’s all-women powered flight demonstrates that DEI is not just a commitment on paper but lived reality in our operations. Our aspiration is for such flights to become a norm, a natural reflection of the talent and leadership women bring to aviation.”
An achievement in DEI
This achievement also reflects the wider impact of Women@MAG, an initiative launched in 2022 to champion DEI across the organisation.
With a mission to engage, support and empower female employees, Women@MAG focuses on creating a workplace that attracts and retains talent, builds trust, encourages innovation, and fosters a culture of mutual respect.
