Bristol Airport (BRS) announces that it is experiencing its busiest summer yet, with a record number of staff working across the airport this year.
Record number of passengers
The airport has been preparing for a record number of passengers travelling to and from the airport the summer season and now offers extensive destination networks for customers.
The airport introduced free bus transport called the Public Transport Interchange (PTI) to BRS and was opened last month by North Somerset Council leader Mike Bell and Member of Parliament, Sadik Al-Hassan.
Transportation includes the A1 Flyer from Bristol Temple Meads train station and A3 Flyer from Weston-Super-Mare, the airport has reported a staggering number of 134,000 passengers and staff rely on these transportation services to get to the airport.
BRS has also introduced the A4 Air Decker from Bath to support sustainable travel and reduce environmental impact from transport emissions.

With the number of passengers at its busiest yet for the airport, the most popular destinations from BRS included Alicante, Faro and Palma. Routes to new summer destinations to Zurich with Edelweiss, and Istanbul with Pegasus, a budget-friendly airline were recently announced.
In preparation for the climb of visiting passengers this year, the airport has opened up jobs in retail and operations, expanding the workforce to over 5,500.
“This summer season we’ve filled more than 40 vacancies, not including retail and hospitality, which appointed more than 30 new staff, but we still have more roles available,” said Cherie Marchant, people director at Bristol Airport
