Korean Air launched Premium Class on a newly retrofitted Boeing 777-300ER for short- and mid-haul routes from mid-September.
A New Class Between Business and Economy
The newly launched Premium Class is positioned between the airline’s Prestige (Business) and Economy Class. It is expected to offer more spacious seating and upgraded service.
Fares for Premium Class depend on the route and travel dates, but will generally be about 110% of standard Economy fares.
Korean Air has invested about KRW 300 billion (About £162 million) to retrofit 11 Boeing 777-300ERs.
Premium Comfort and Elevated Service
The Premium Class offers about 50% more space than the Economy Class. It features 40 seats in a 2-4-2 layout.
The seats are about 50cm wide, recline up to 130 degrees, with leg, footrests, and ergonomic headrests for gentle support. The seats also feature wing-shaped sides in order to provide better privacy for each passenger.
For in-flight entertainment, the seats offer 15.6-inch 4K resolution screens, providing a bigger screen compared to the existing Economy Class.
Passengers flying with Premium Class can also enjoy priority ground services, including access to Morning Calm check-in counters, priority baggage handling and Sky Priority boarding.
When travelling on international routes, travellers will be offered a single-tray meal service with a main course dish, appetiser, and dessert from the Prestige Class. All beverages, such as wine, coffee, and tea, will also offered from the Prestige Class menu.

This fleet upgrade has been in progress since 2018 and, after delays due to the pandemic, we’re proud to now offer an elevated travel experience that meets our passengers’ evolving needs.”
