TRIUMPH Group Inc. has been awarded a contract by Deutsche Aircraft to design, manufacture, and support the gust lock system for Deutsche Aircraft’s 40-seater D328eco regional turboprop.
Gust Lock System
Gust locks are crucial for preventing unintended movement of control surfaces (like ailerons and rudder) when an aircraft is parked, especially during severe weather conditions. This announcement took place after the 2025 Paris Air Show and was awarded to Triumph’s Cable Control Systems Division, located in Heiligenhaus, Germany.
This builds on the collaboration that was announced during the 2024 Farnborough International Air Show, at which Triumph was selected to develop and manufacture the precooler system of the engine. Triumph’s continued involvement in the D328eco as it transitions from development to the industrial phase marks the strategic value of this partnership in delivering the next-generation aircraft to the market.
Deutsche Aircraft’s D328eco
The D328eco is equipped with Pratt & Whitney PS127XT-S engines. These engines are expected to scale the aircraft to new heights, as they are capable of operating on 100% sustainable aviation fuel, including power-to-liquids fuel with zero aromatics.
Justin Wolfanger, president of Triumph Systems, Electronics & Controls, commented on Triumph’s broader role in supporting sustainable aviation initiatives across its operating divisions. He spoke highly of the D328eco and the sustainable future it represents in the aviation industry. He said:
