Heading South for Some Sun?

Air Canada‘s flight schedule for Winter 2025 sees their largest network expansion to Latin America to date, with a 16% increase in seat capacity since last Winter.

The airline will now operate over 55 daily flights and offer 80,000 seats weekly to passengers travelling to Latin America – the most comprehensive offer of the Canadian airlines.

“Air Canada is delivering on its New Frontiers strategy with the expansion of its Latin America presence this winter. We are excited to be adding Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City and Guadalajara to our global network, and increasing service to Santiago with new flights from Montreal.” Says Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer of Air Canada. “Our Latin America winter schedule has been built to serve both Canadian and global Sixth Freedom connecting travellers, as well as capitalize on growing cargo opportunities”.

“We are also very pleased to add new winter routes from Halifax, Quebec City, Ottawa and Vancouver, to the Bahamas, Jamaica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Mexico, and increase capacity to popular sun vacation destinations” concludes Mr. Galardo.

New Destinations for Winter 2025

The award-winning airline have introduced 4 new Latin American destinations: Rio de Janeiro, Cartagena, Guatemala City, and Guadalajara.

Colombia’s Cartagena is a vibrant coastal city, famed for its UNESCO-listed Walled City, cobbled streets and historical fortress. Those heading to Guatemala City, on the other hand, can expect rich Mayan history and expansive natural wonders such as volcanoes a short drive away. Mexico’s Guadalajara boasts the best in tequila and mariachi, providing a rich and authentic Mexican cultural experience for its visitors.

Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro continues to draw in masses of tourists to the cultural hotspot, and now Air Canada passengers can experience the city pulsing with rhythm and colour.

“Rio de Janeiro is one of those unique places in the world where you can go hiking, swim in the ocean, experience the rich Afro-Brazilian culture, admire breathtaking landscapes, and enjoy an authentic and diverse gastronomy.” Says Marcelo Freixo, President of Embratur, the Brazilian Tourism Board. “The relaunch of this route meets a growing demand from Canadian travellers for genuine and sustainable experiences. That is why we remain committed to working in partnership to strengthen this and many other connections between Brazil and Canada.”

The 13 new routes offer flights from Canada’s major airports. Here’s a full list of the new routes Air Canada has to offer:
