Warbirds Downunder Airshow is set to return to Temora, New South Wales, on the weekend of Oct. 19-20, 2024. Known for showcasing one of the largest collections of warbird aircraft in Australia, the 2024 edition promises an exhilarating experience for aviation enthusiasts.

A Legacy of Aviation Excellence

The last Warbirds Downunder in 2018 boasted the largest gathering of warbird aircraft Australia had ever seen. Organisers have hinted that this year’s show could surpass previous events with an impressive line-up, though the full roster of participating aircraft is yet to be confirmed. Anticipation is building as details continue to emerge, with the event expected to once again set a benchmark for Warbird airshows across the country.

What to expect at Warbirds Downunder 2024

While the complete list of aircraft is still forthcoming, attendees can look forward to witnessing an array of historic planes and modern military displays in the airshow. Notable warbirds scheduled for flight include:

  • Lockheed Hudson
  • Two Spitfires
  • DH-82A Tiger Moths
  • English Electric Canberra
  • Ryan STM and PT22
  • Harvards
  • Kittyhawks and Warhawks
  • P-51 Mustangs
  • T-28 Trojan
  • UH-1 Helicopter
  • C130 Hercules
  • F-35A Lightning II Jet

The event will also feature demonstrations from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), including performances by the RAAF Roulettes aerobatic team. The combination of historical aircraft and cutting-edge military jets promises a breathtaking spectacle over two days of the airshow.

Visitors are encouraged to prepare for the high-decibel sounds of the powerful engines, especially during performances by modern jets like the F-35A. Hearing protection will be available at the event’s gift shops, though attendees are advised to bring their own protection if possible.

To stay informed about further announcements, including additional aircraft line-ups and important updates, enthusiasts can subscribe to the official Warbirds Downunder newsletter or follow the event on social media.
