OSLO, 18 DECEMBER 2018 – The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner of Ethiopian Airlines, registration no. ET-AUP, with 75 passengers on board has collided with a lighting pole at Oslo-Gardermoen Airport, Norway (OSL).
Flight ET715 was preparing for take-off to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa with a stopover at the Stockholm-Arlanda International when the incident occurred. The aircraft collided with a lighting pole, suffering damage to its right half wing during maneuvers at the de-icing area. The extent of the damage is still unknown.
According to the testimonies of on board passengers, the incident occurred around 19: 10 hrs LT (GMT + 1). All passangers were properly accommodated in their respective seats when they felt the plane tremble.
The terminal’s emergency teams were deployed to the site for a verification and evaluation of the damage. Nobody was injured and passengers were transported back to the terminal by bus as the flight was cancelled.
