Why Are Air India Flights Cancelled or Diverted?

According to Air India’s official statement, all affected flights are being either diverted back to India, rerouted or returning to their original departure points. The airline cited the developing situation in the Middle East as the reason for halting operations. The move affects a significant portion of the airline’s long-haul network.

Air India spokesperson said:

Our India-bound flights from North America are diverting back to their respective origins, and others are being rerouted or diverted back to India. We request the understanding of all passengers who may be affected by this disruption that’s beyond an airline’s control.”

Passenger Safety Comes First

The airline has reiterated its commitment to passenger and crew safety, stating it is in constant consultation with external security advisors and closely monitoring the evolving situation. Air India has not yet provided a specific timeline for the resumption of services.

Air India spokesperson stated:

Air India is in continuous consultation with its external security advisors and is vigilantly monitoring the evolving situation. The safety and security of our passengers and staff remain our number one priority.”
