SAS has introduced a punch card, Travel Pass Biofuel, to offer discounted flights for flyers who regularly travel to the same destinations.

Travel Pass Biofuel

The pass will be available as part of SAS‘ sustainable initiatives. As the airline is committed to increasing its usage of biofuel (sustainable aviation fuel), the pass will help encourage travellers to choose a more sustainable travel option. By purchasing the pass, the passenger pays for biofuel in the amount corresponding to the amount of fuel burned on that trip.

The Travel Pass Biofuel can be purchased from the airline and appeals to corporate travellers and sustainably-minded passengers alike, “perfect for customers who want to make their flying more sustainable” according to Markus Ek, VP Global Sales, SAS.

What’s Included?

Included in the pass are all of the perks of SAS Plus, such as Fast Track, SAS Lounge, free seating choice, access to WiFi onboard, checked bags, and onboard meals. Additionally, passengers will receive discounted rates on regular flights to a chosen destination. The tickets include no additional charges and come in 20, 40, 60, 100, and 200 punches that are valid for one year from the purchase date.

SAS Biofuel

SAS has already committed to using biofuel (SAF) as part of the airline’s sustainable initiatives, and the fuel purchased with the Travel Pass Biofuel will be added to that amount. With a modern fleet of fuel-efficient aircraft, SAS hopes to become a leader in sustainability within the aviation industry.

According to SAS, biofuel emits up to 80% less CO2 than traditional jet fuel. The biofuel can be blended with traditional jet fuel in a 50/50 mixture on the airline’s existing aircraft.
