The airline is yet to announce exact routes and scheduled flight dates as they monitor current trends of international flight demand. President of AirJapan, Hideki Mineguchi, spoke about the new medium-haul international airline in a statement:

“We are excited to begin unveiling AirJapan and the selectable service and comfortable cabin experience it will offer passengers.
By focusing on medium-haul international routes, the ANA Group will be better equipped to meet emerging trends for international travel at a competitive price.
We are proud to be part of the team that is increasing options for travellers while also bringing the same commitment to quality and safety found across the ANA Group.”

Fly Thoughtful

AirJapan announced yesterday that their company would have a “caring, thoughtful and gentle approach”, summing up their brand ethos as “Fly Thoughtful”. The company also announced that the reason behind their choice of name was to remind customers they are a Japanese airline and offer “Japanese quality” service.

Goal

AirJapan aims to establish a new form of an airline that is neither low nor high budget; a mid-range, affordable travel experience that combines the best of both worlds and incorporates Japanese style and quality.

Fleet

The airline fleet will consist of mainly refurbished Boeing 787 Dreamliners. As ANA Holdings is currently the largest operator of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, owning around 40 aircraft, they will be reconfiguring some of their currently owned planes to launch the new airline. They hope to provide a comfortable cabin environment for all passengers on board.
