On the morning of Monday, July 30, 2018, an 1982 Piper Aerostar crashed near Greenville Municipal Airport. Investigators say the pilot and two passengers were killed.
“FlightAware.com” data showed that the aircraft was flying at nearly 30,000 feet, at a speed of between 200 and 300 miles per hour. But speed and altitude suddenly decreased when he was heading south.
The aircraft descended within 100 meters of the runway before crashing.
