Major disruption is being caused this morning at Frankfurt airport this morning after a drone sighting by a pilot at 11h20 Central European Time.

Frankfurt Airport Germany

This comes after a similar disruption at the main German airport in May last year and Gatwick near London in December 2018.  While the airport remains open, flight operations have been suspended. All inbound flights are being diverted to nearby airports. Federal police described the activity as ‘targeted disruptive action’ and have a helicopter in the air searching for the drone and operators.

We will monitor this breaking news and update with further details as they become available.
