Aeromexico will launch three new nonstop routes from Mexico City to Orange County, Fort Lauderdale, and Portland beginning in January 2027. Announced Oct. 26 by Aeromexico and Delta Air Lines, the services will operate daily, year-round, expanding the airlines’ joint network to 27 U.S. destinations from Mexico City.

Three Routes to Launch In January
The new flights will connect Mexico City International Airport (MEX) with John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Orange County, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Portland International Airport (PDX). Aeromexico will operate all three routes using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft configured with 166 seats, including 16 in Premier Class, 18 in AM Plus, and 132 in Economy.
The Orange County route will begin Jan. 11, 2027, followed by Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 14, and Portland on Jan. 21. The first flight from Portland to Mexico City is scheduled for Jan. 22
“We are thrilled to announce three new routes to the United States, one of the most dynamic and strategically important markets for Mexico’s international connectivity,” Giancarlo Mulinelli, Aeromexico’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales, said in the announcement
The services will operate daily, with personal seatback entertainment available throughout the aircraft. All schedules are subject to change, according to the airlines.

New Connections Serve Different U.S. Markets
The three destinations offer access to different travel markets across the United States.
Orange County will provide a nonstop connection to Southern California, including coastal communities and attractions in the Anaheim area. The service will use John Wayne Airport (SNA) in Santa Ana rather than Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), offering another airport option for travelers visiting the region.
Fort Lauderdale will connect Mexico City with South Florida, giving passengers access to the area’s beaches and cruise industry, through the airport near Port Everglades, a major cruise port that could make the route useful for travelers combining air travel with a cruise.
Portland will add a connection to the Pacific Northwest, serving travelers visiting Oregon for business, leisure, and outdoor recreation. The city also provides access to destinations such as the Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood.

Aeromexico and Delta Expand Their Network
The new routes form part of the airlines’ Joint Cooperation Agreement, which supports their transborder network between Mexico and the United States. Once the services begin, the agreement’s network will cover 27 U.S. destinations from Mexico City
“The addition of these destinations will give our customers new options to enjoy the wide range of tourism experiences both countries have to offer, while opening new opportunities for business and trade,” Mulinelli said.
Aeromexico said it will be the only airline operating nonstop flights between Mexico City and each of the three destinations when the routes launch.
