Air India Express have launched direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Amritsar and have also resumed services to Goa. Both these changes are expected to improve connectivity between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India. These services began on Oct. 25 and operate three times a week from Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE.

The new route connects Abu Dhabi with Amritsar, a major city in the northwest of the state of Punjab, while the resumed Goa service restores direct access to one of India’s coastal states and popular destinations.

New Route Improves UAE-India Connectivity

These routes provide more options for passengers travelling to India for holidays, business and visiting family. Air India Express has said that the new and returning services will also improve community, cultural and economic ties between India and the UAE.

The launch of the Amritsar route and the return of Goa flights make up part of the airline’s widespread expansion in Abu Dhabi, where the airline has launched flights to several destinations in India over the last year.

Air India Express, owned by Air India Limited, now serves flights between 17 different cities in India to and from Abu Dhabi, operating around 160 flights a week between the two countries.

Air India Express Continues International Expansion

These latest additions reflect Air India Express’s sustained efforts to improve connectivity between India and the UAE and, more importantly, expand its international network.

Carsten Nørland, Chief Commercial Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports said “India remains one of the most important markets for Abu Dhabi.” He said the launch of this new route and the return of the Goa flight will expand travel options for passengers.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chairman of Air India Express said that the services supported Abu Dhabi’s role in the airline’s growing international network.

Both services now operate three times weekly, allowing passengers to access direct connections between Abu Dhabi and two additional Indian destinations, as the airline continues to establish and develop its presence in the UAE.
