The Boeing 737-800 is one of the most highly recognised airliners in the history of aviation, with over 56% of the manufacturer’s output, being the 737. However, such a reputable airliner came into a spell of trouble on 16th November 2019; Flight TS691 (Operated by Air Transat) from Santa Clara to Toronto, was forced to divert to Orlando, Florida, after one of it’s engines shut down mid-flight.

TS691 took off at around 11:30am in the morning, due in Toronto just after 3:30pm, but after only 1.5hrs in the air, the aircraft squawked 7700 (The code for ‘General Emergencies’) and diverted to Orlando in Florida, due to one of the engines shutting down midflight.

The aircraft touched down safely at around 12:20pm with no injuries to the 150 passengers or 6 crew onboard. The cause of the incident is still being investigated.

Were you a passenger onboard? Have you experienced an emergency landing before? We’d love to hear from you – Get in touch below!
