The behind-the-scenes of the retrofitted Boeing 777

In November 2022, Emirates announced a project that was set to improve 191 aircraft across the airline. With the new Airbus A380 planes up and running with all the premium Emirates features, now the refurbished Boeing 777 is set to soar the skies and show off its high-class and improved cream interiors.

Emirates announced on 23 July 2025 that its newly refurbished long-haul Boeing 777 is set to serve the Spanish capital with its brand-new and high-class interior decorated aircraft. The plane’s new and improved premium economy cabin, alongside general refurbishments to the long-haul workhorse Boeing 777, is set to enhance travel for passengers with its classy new interior and exterior retrofitting.

The Boeing 777 will operate as flights outbound EK143 and inbound EK144. Outbound flights will depart Dubai International Airport (DIA) at 2:30 pm local time and arrive in Madrid at 8.20 pm local time. Following the Boeing 777 return to DIA, EK144 will depart Madrid at 10:05 pm and return to Dubai at 7:10 am local time.

Access to luxurious cabins for all levels of travel

The retrofitting was announced to enhance travel for passengers. It was done as an investment in their cabin finishings to provide luxury travel for all in the new retrofitted aircraft. With refurbished award-winning first-class cabins, business class new interiors will offer lie-flat seats to provide ultimate comfort for those travelling long-haul. For their economy class, Emirates has introduced increased leg room, deeper recline, and cushioned leg rests. Further, in-flight entertainment on Boeing 777 will include 13.3-inch television screens for seats.

With Emirates’ announcement of the refurb to enhance travel for passengers, are you excited to see Boeing 777 soar through the skies? Let us know in the comments below!
