UNO Technology – an international company operating in commercial aviation and providing innovative engineering solutions, has recently started developing cabins for the air traffic control towers at the Noida International Airport. Their ambitious plan for 2024-2025 is to add more airports to the list.
UNO Technology – The Vision
UNO Technology is an Indian-based engineering company with the ambitious concept of “HIGHER VISION, ALWAYS,” focusing on high-quality design services with world-class designs and standards in the aviation sector. The company is elevating its vision by collaborating strategically with worldwide airports and architects to bring high design standards to the aviation sector and working on the development of “state-of-the-art” Air Traffic Control Towers and Visual Control Rooms.
COUNTACH Designs
UNO Technology’s exclusive COUNTACH design offers high-standard features for Air Traffic Controllers. Chemically hardened laminated heated glazing provides an outstanding 340-degree arc of vision and smooths operations during nighttime because of the clear night vision; it is also ideal for weather conditions such as wind and thermal and acoustic influences.
Furthermore, user-friendly electric accessories have been developed to help with the controller’s tasks, making them accessible inside and outside the cabin. COUNTACH designs and their performance stick to ICAO regulations. Unni Bhaskar, Managing Director of UNO Technology, stated:
We use a special treated glass called chemically toughened glass, which is very difficult to source because only two or three companies worldwide are making this right. We are exploring the possibilities of manufacturing this locally in India.
The Latest Projects and the Ambitious Plans
UNO Technology has developed several projects around the world in influencer airports such as: Duqm International Airport Duqm, Sultanate of Oman, Fujairah International Airport Fujairah, UAE, Maktoum International Airport Jebel Ali, UAE, Sharjah International Airport Sharjah, UAE among others. Furthermore, UNO Technology’s ambition is to invest in the Indian market this year.
Currently, UNO Technology is developing the air traffic control tower’ cabins at the Noida International Airport located in Delhi, with costs of approximately Rs 25–30 crore at small airports (£25 million to £30 million) and approximately Rs 300 crore (£300 million) for a large airport. Mr. Unni Bhaskar, Managing Director of UNO Technology, explained his vision for the project:
“Our project in India with the Noida International Airport is a significant milestone. We bring innovative technology and a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction by advancing the country’s air traffic control infrastructure. Since our slogan is “100% made in India, made for the world,” we take pride in contributing to the growth of the Indian aviation industry globally. This project is a step towards our vision for a safer and more efficient future in aviation.”
Unni Bhaskar highlighted India as the “fastest-growing aviation market in the world” and the prospect of the latest developed technologies being available from several countries.
