The video of the Wizz Air pilot’s tannoy announcement has gone viral on Tik Tok.

“I don’t need this!”

“You know, I don’t need this! My crew don’t need this!” These were the words of the disgruntled Wizz Air pilot to his passengers, as they faced a seven-hour delay on the runway. A video of the incident was filmed by passenger Hannah Mace and uploaded to TikTok, where it’s already received over 87 thousand views.

The video shows the shocked reactions of fellow passengers aboard the flight, which was held up at Gatwick Airport. The plane was waiting to set off to Larnaca in Cyprus but faced severe delays. Complaints from passengers managed to get under the pilot’s skin, who made an announcement over the tannoy to tell passengers to stop asking him for help.

Pilot loses his patience

“Show of hands, please, who wants to get off?” the exasperated Wizz Air pilot asked passengers, adding, “we won’t be going tonight if you get off!”. The video shows shocked faces around the cabin, as the realisation sets in that the captain has finally lost his patience.

“It’s out of my control! Completely out of my control!” he says, then “we’re doing everything we can”. Adding, “If you want to get off, I’ll let you off, no problem”, essentially telling passengers that they could deplane, but it would mean the flight would get cancelled. Finally, he tells those aboard, “I don’t need this! My crew don’t need this!”.

Commenters on TikTok had sympathy for the pilot, with one saying, “Oh bless him though, you can hear the pain in his voice. He wanted to get going as much as everyone else, must be hard to have everyone moaning at you”.
