Canada and The Coronavirus

Canada is set to receive 7.1 million coronavirus vaccine doses this week as they look to reopen their borders to people wanting to visit the country.  From 9th of August, Canada has stated that fully vaccinated American citizens can visit the country on non-essential purposes. The travellers must be double dosed by a shot that Canada recognises and accepts.

The border between Canada and the U.S. has been closed since March 21st 2020, so it’s a huge step on the path of recovering from the pandemic for both countries.

International Tourists Visiting Canada

For the rest of the world, the good news comes a month later. Canada will open their borders to international tourists hopefully on the 7th of September. The same applies to global visitors – they must too be fully vaccinated with a Canadian recognised double dose. Those travelling must have a plan of how they’ll quarantine and be ready to self-isolate if need be if they do not align with Canada’s travel rules.

This is subject to the pandemic staying under control in the country and cases of COVID-19 staying low.

The Prime Minister of Canada stated a couple weeks ago, that unvaccinated travellers will have to wait quite a while before entering the country. They also recently extended the ban on direct flights from India until late in August.

A large triangular window at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand is the main focus of the image, stanning from the centre to the centre right. It appears to be sunset, outside, and a lovely golden hue is visible as the light pours in. There are squared lines across the triangle window, and in the centre left, the lower right corner of another of these windows can be seen. There are chairs underneath the window on the inside, where this picture is taken across the room from, and a cylinder which resembles a bin in near the centre of the image. All of the objects are silhouettes.
