Cathay Pacific Reports Strong July 2025 Traffic Growth

Cathay Pacific revealed its traffic figures for July 2025. Cathay Pacific, Cathay Cargo, and HK Express all recorded significant growth.

Passenger Surge for Cathay Pacific

In the previous month, Cathay Pacific carried 24% more passengers compared to July 2024, reaching more than 2,489,000 passengers, while its Available Seat Kilometres (ASKs) also increased by 30% in the same period.

Notably, the number of passengers carried increased by 27% year-over-year, reaching more than 16,115,000 in total.

Cathay Cargo Continues Steady Climb

The carriage of Cathay Cargo gained 11% year-over-year growth in Jul 2025 compared to Jul 2024, while its Available Freight Tonne Kilometres (AFTKs)  rose 11%.

The total tonnage has also grew by 11% in the first seven months of 2025 compared to 2024.

HK Express Delivers Robust Performance

HK Express reached 22% year-over-year growth by carrying more than 680,000 passengers in July 2025 compared to Jul 2024, while its ASKs reached 38% growth.

In the first seven months of the year, the passenger carriage of the airline increased by 32% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching nearly 4,477,000 passengers.

Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau said:

“July marks the start of the traditional summer peak season for our passenger business, and together Cathay Pacific and HK Express carried approximately 3.2 million passengers, the most of any month so far this year. Meanwhile, Cathay Cargo carried over 140,000 tonnes of cargo in July.”
