Jet 2.com, one of the UK’s most successful airlines, has celebrated 20 years of operations from Manchester airport. Since its initial flight to Budapest in 2004, the airline has expanded into a leading company in the aviation industry, offering flights to 70 destinations and earning the trust of over 36 million passengers. Its commitment to affordable fares, VIP customer service and a continuously expanding network of routes has made it a trusted choice among travellers in the North West.

To celebrate the success, Jet 2.com rolled out the red carpet for its passengers at Manchester Airport. The festivities included a warm welcome with a festive balloon arch, discount vouchers for future bookings and true VIP treatment, highlighting the airline’s dedication to customer satisfaction.

Two decades of soaring success

What began with just three destinations has grown into a network that caters to all types of travellers. Specifically, Jet 2’s impressive growth has focused on understanding and meeting customer needs. Moreover, the airline has announced exciting new routes for winter 2024/25 and summer 2025 including festive flights to Gdansk and summer escapes to Jerez, Pula and Salerno. This expansion reflects its ambition to remain a key player in offering diverse and appealing travel options. Jet2holidays, the UK’s largest tour operator, complements the airline’s success. Since 2007, Jet2holidays has been offering ATOL-protected packages, various accommodation and reliable in-resort customer service, ensuring a smooth travel experience for holidaymakers.

Customer-first approach earns recognition

Jet2.com’s dedication to customers extends far beyond its routes. Its reputation for VIP customer service, generous baggage allowances and timely flights has earned it various prestigious awards including being named ‘Which? Travel Brand of the Year’ for three years running. This consistent dedication to customers has established it as a primary choice for travellers.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, commented on the success:

“This is a significant milestone in our history. From starting with just three destinations, we’ve grown substantially, and this anniversary is a chance to reflect on our achievements and look forward to the future. Our focus on VIP customer service has been key to our success.”

Stephen Turner, Chief Commercial Officer at Manchester Airport, added:

“We congratulate Jet2.com on 20 years of successful operations from Manchester. Their diverse range of destinations perfectly aligns with our mission to offer travellers unrivalled choice and convenience.”

As Jet 2 continues to expand its horizons and enhance its offerings to become a trusted choice among travellers, one question remains: what exciting destinations and innovations lie ahead for the airline? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
