TAP Air Portugal has unveiled the latest addition to its fleet with the arrival of the Airbus A321neo, marking a step forward in the airline’s strategy to enhance passenger comfort. The first of 20 new aircraft, named António Sérgio, has already joined the fleet and is poised to transform the travel experience for TAP customers.

Optimised cabin space
For many passengers, hand luggage can be a sticking point, having to adhere to strict guidelines for a cabin that does not even have the capacity to hold all items. The A321neo has been redesigned with luggage compartments offering 37% more volume.
The larger luggage compartments allow for vertical loading, which increases the capacity to eight rather than five bags per bin. The A321neo can now hold 194 pieces of hand luggage, compared to just 130 in the A320neo.

Improved Passenger Experience
There are new components in the cabin to enhance the passenger experience. A new LED lighting system can be configured to adapt the atmosphere of the cabin during each stage of the flight. Each seat is now equipped with both a USB-A and USB-C socket.
Accessibility has also been prioritised. The toilets are now more spacious and feature Braille signage, making the experience more inclusive for passengers with visual impairments.

A modern aircraft
With the A321neo, TAP Air Portugal combines efficiency with passenger-focused design, reinforcing its role as a modern European carrier. As more of the new aircraft join the fleet in the coming months, passengers can expect smoother journeys, greater comfort, and a renewed sense of Portuguese hospitality at 35,000 feet.
