Discover Airline and Spafax have launched StoryWonder, a personalised story experience designed to enhance in-flight entertainment for children ages 3 to 13. StoryWonder utilises AI to generate stories that are designed to make flying more engaging for children. This hopes to make flying a more exciting adventure.

StoryWonder Brings Personalised Entertainment to Children

The StoryWonder experience begins at home. Passengers will receive a link where they can start personalising their stories, from characters, themes, language and travel destination. A story will be generated with the child in the leading role. The story can be experienced in three modes: an audio story, a story to be read themselves, and a bedtime story to be read by parents.

StoryWonder allows children to learn more about the people and culture of their destination. It is designed to be interactive and inclusive, with the interface available in five languages and stories available in 11 languages. Stories can also be set in any of Discover Airlines’ 50 destinations.

Improving the In-Flight Experience for Children

Flying can be a daunting experience for children. This may be due to new environments, boredom during long-haul flights, and unfamiliar physical sensations. Additionally, parents must prepare for these challenges to ensure a comfortable experience for themselves and other passengers.

With new in-flight entertainment such as StoryWonder, Spafax Senior Vice President of Global Business Development Dimitrios Tsirangelos hopes to enhance the family travel experience. Discover Airlines Head of Product Sebastian Kaiser also mentioned their focus on family-friendly offerings and extensive in-flight entertainment services.

Have airlines provided enough support for parents to ensure a positive family travel experience? What do you think about the use of AI in this case? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
