Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has launched daily Copenhagen-Istanbul flights. The service began on March 27, 2026, connecting the Copenhagen Airport (CPH) with the Istanbul Airport (IST), adding another link between Scandinavia and Turkey.

Strengthening Northern European connections
The route is operated with Airbus A320neo aircraft, which are typically used on short- and medium-haul services, as they seat around 180 passengers.
The addition of this route increases direct connectivity between the Scandinavian region and Turkey, providing more options for passengers travelling between the two regions.
According to airport information, the route forms part of wider efforts to expand international connections at Istanbul Airport, which serves more than 300 destinations through multiple airline partnerships.

Daily service supports travel demand
The introduction of these flights from Denmark reflects demand for travel between Northern Europe and Turkey, including both business and leisure travel. The flights will operate non-stop every day.
The route also offers additional transfer options for passengers connecting through Istanbul, as this airport is one of the world’s largest hubs, linking Europe, Asia and other regions.
The service is expected to support tourism and trade between the two regions, alongside existing routes.
The launch of the SAS flights strengthens Istanbul Airport’s network, with further route developments expected as demand grows.
