Maldives’ premium leisure carrier, Beond (B4) has announced that it is suspending all flights through the summer season, with operations set to resume in October 2026.

Beond & The Summer Suspension
The carrier, headquartered in Dubai but operating out of Malé Velana International Airport (MLE), launched in 2023 with an all-business-class product and a fleet of just two aircraft, an A319 and an A321. Leveraging fifth freedom rights which allow an airline to carry passengers between two foreign countries as part of a longer international route, the airline connects Europe to the Maldives via stopovers at either Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) or Red Sea International Airport (RSI).
On April 18, 2026, the carrier posted via its social media platforms that it is suspending all flights between the Maldives and Europe through the summer season with immediate effect. For passengers already booked, Beond’s Guest Experience Team is offering flexible rebooking to the winter season or anytime within the next 12 months, as well as full refunds.

What Does This Mean for Beond?
With the ongoing Middle East crisis and rising jet fuel costs, routing through the region adds cost and complexity at a time of regional instability. Grounding the aircraft does not resolve the financial pressure either; staff still need to be paid and with only two aircraft, there is very little buffer.
