Second Syrian Destination

Aleppo is the second Syrian destination to return to Qatar Airways’ network, with the airline restarting flights to the capital, Damascus, earlier this year.

From the 10 August 2025, flights to Aleppo will depart every Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday:

  • Doha (DOH) to Aleppo (ALP) – Flight QR414: Departure 08:30, Arrival 11:40
  • Aleppo (ALP) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR415: Departure 13:55, Arrival 17:00

Flights from 01 September 2025 will take off every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday:

  • Doha (DOH) to Aleppo (ALP) – Flight QR414: Departure 08:30, Arrival 11:40
  • Aleppo (ALP) to Doha (DOH) – Flight QR415: Departure 13:55, Arrival 17:00
The airline launched flights to Aleppo in 2011, but started suspending flights to Syria the next year due to the worsening geopolitical situation.

Syria’s Aviation Recovery

The latest announcement from Qatar Airways seems to point towards a resurgence in aviation for the Middle-Eastern country, however domestic and regional conflict still threatens to impact this tentative recovery.

Whilst Emirates resumed flying over the country for the first time since the civil war in May of this year, several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, still advise their airlines against flying over Syria.

Overall, scheduled flights are still only 58% of the levels seen in July 2010.
