The seasonal route expansion forms part of the airline’s updated summer 2026 schedule, which runs from June to September 2026, rather than a full long-term reinstatement of all services. Qatar Airways has expanded its global network for summer 2026, restoring services to 26 destinations across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Americas as part of its wider network rebuild. The airline says the latest expansion brings its overall reach to more than 160 destinations worldwide. Qatar Airways said the expansion is aimed at improving global connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport (DOH).
Global network restoration and route expansion across key regions
The latest expansion includes resumed services and increased frequencies across Africa, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. New and returning destinations include Kigali (Rwanda), Seychelles and Marrakesh (Morocco) in Africa, as well as Bogotá (Colombia), Caracas (Venezuela) and Philadelphia (United States) in the Americas.
In the United States, Qatar Airways is also increasing frequencies on several key routes. For example, the airline states that services to Boston (BOS) will rise from four to seven weekly flights, while Los Angeles (LAX) increases to seven weekly flights, Miami to 10 weekly flights and San Francisco to seven weekly flights. The airline said the changes are intended to support demand linked to major events, including the FIFA World Cup 2026.
In Asia-Pacific, the carrier is restoring services to destinations including Adelaide (Australia), Auckland (New Zealand), Osaka (Japan), Tokyo Haneda (Japan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan), alongside several cities in Central Asia and the Caucasus. In Europe, resumed routes include Brussels (Belgium), Düsseldorf (Germany), Lisbon (Portugal), Oslo (Norway), Prague (Czech Republic) and Helsinki (Finland), among others. Qatar Airways stated that the expansion reflects ongoing recovery in international demand and strengthens its international flight network during the summer travel season.
Fleet connectivity and passenger experience
The airline said its network expansion is supported by operational improvements and investments in onboard and airport infrastructure. Qatar Airways reported an on-time performance of 84.42% in 2025, which it said was recognised by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, with a Platinum Award for operational excellence.
The carrier continues to operate through Hamad International Airport in Doha, which serves as its primary hub and features retail and dining facilities operated by Qatar Duty Free. The airport is positioned as a central transfer point for connecting long-haul passengers across regions, supporting Qatar Airways’ strategy to enhance global connectivity and strengthen its Doha hub operations.
