Partnership between Emirates and Arsenal extends until 2028

Emirates, the international airline, and Arsenal, one of the world’s leading football clubs, announced the extension of their partnership until 2028. The new deal marks the continuation of a successful partnership that began in July 2006 and will now run until at least 2028, making the sponsorship the longest in Premier League history.

Partnership to continue until 2028

The previous contract was scheduled to expire at the end of the 2023/24 season. The announcement came just before the Emirates Cup, Arsenal’s pre-season tournament against top teams from around the world. It was a memorable day for Emirates as Arsenal defeated Monaco via a penalty shootout.

Over the course of 17 years, this collaboration has become synonymous with excellence, shared values, and mutual success. Their continued partnership demonstrates their commitment to each other as they strive to reach new heights and push boundaries. As of 2006, Emirates has featured on the front of the men’s, women’s, and academy team shirts at Arsenal home in north London. Just three years ahead of fellow UAE carrier Etihad Airways.

The new partnership not only reaffirms Emirates’ commitment to Arsenal but also demonstrates their commitment to sport in general. Through this long-term agreement, Emirates will maintain a prominent position within the football industry, bolstering its brand recognition worldwide and strengthening its position as a leading sporting sponsor. The financial details of the new agreement have not been released, but the previous agreement was worth approximately £40 million ($50.7 million) per year to Arsenal.

The airline has helped Arsenal connect with supporters around the world on pre-season tours. With this partnership, Arsenal gains stability, financial support, and access to Emirates‘ global network. Recently, Arsenal, together with Emirates, launched the ‘Global Gooners’ campaign. Providing free air travel and stadium tickets for Arsenal supporters around the globe. As a result of Emirates’ global presence, Arsenal has a large fan base, while countless millions of people worldwide watch the English Premier League. Through this partnership extension, trust and synergy have been built between the two entities.

Along with being the primary shirt sponsor, Emirates also holds the stadium naming rights, with Emirates Stadium being the name of the 60,000-seat stadium in London. As part of the partnership, Arsenal can embark on pre-season tours, and some of Emirates’ aircraft are painted in Arsenal colours, such as the Airbus A380.
