Connecting continents

Turkish Airlines’ new global advertising campaign will be based around the concept of Pangea – the single supercontinent that existed millions of years ago. The idea is that the airline’s service makes the world more connected – as it was when all the continents were joined together.

The Ad will be narrated by Morgan Freeman and is set to air during the second quarter of the Super Bowl LVI on February 13, 2022. Keen Turkish Airlines fans can catch the online debut three days before, on Thursday, 10 February 2022, and you can watch the teaser trailer here.

The sixth year of Super Bowl Ads

This will be the sixth time Turkish Airlines have had an Ad show in the Super Bowl, and in fact, the second one that stars Morgan Freeman. The previous year’s ads have been:

  • 2016 “Fly to Gotham and Metropolis City.”
  • 2017 “Widen Your World” starring Morgan Freeman
  • 2018 “Five Senses.”
  • 2019 “The Journey” directed by Ridley Scott
  • 2020 “Step on Earth.”

Production for this year’s Ad began in September 2021; and was shot on location in Istanbul and New York. Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, said:

“After months of creative ideation and production, we’re glad to share our Pangea campaign that features Morgan Freeman with the world during the most watched sporting event on the global calendar. Travelers are increasingly hopeful and enthusiastic to safely explore new destinations or reunite with loved ones, and as a leading global airline, we hope to spark inspiration and instill confidence as we strive to reconnect the world.”
