New Issuer, Same Price: Deutsche Bank to Take Over Lufthansa Credit Card from October 2025

Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card will be issued by Deutsche Bank, starting from Oct 1, 2025.

With the same card price, the card is expected to offer several improved services and new features.

To ensure a smooth transition for customers, a gradual move to Deutsche Bank is expected to take place by spring 2026.

Mastercard’s partnership for the cards will stay the same.

Enhanced Perks for Cardholders: From Marriott Elite Status to Mobile Data and More

With the transition, cardholders could enjoy several benefits.

There will be an exclusive changeover bonus that cardholders will receive according to their card product and frequent flyer status, including a form of miles and points.

Cardholders’ card fees would not be charged for the first month after the transition.

Apart from that, there will be an integrated banking service, and credit card banking can be linked to the Miles & More app.

In addition, Miles & More Gold Credit Card and Lufthansa Frequent Traveller Credit Card holders could receive the coveted Marriott Bonvoy® Silver Elite status automatically.

Gold and Status cardholders can also get five gigabytes of free data volume from mobile phone provider Flexiroam five times a year for five days.

Last but not least, there will be a new look for all cards.

Lufthansa Group Chief Commercial Officer Dieter Vranckx said:

“With the new Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card, we have developed a product with Deutsche Bank that offers our customers significant added value – with proven services, attractive innovations, and a fresh design. We look forward to offering our customers even more benefits as part of this strong partnership.”

Deutsche Bank head of Cash Management Ole Matthiessen said:

“We are focusing on growth with Lufthansa’s successful loyalty program. With the new credit card, we are expanding our offering for our customers as a global principal bank worldwide and look forward to offering them further attractive benefits and services in the future.”

Mastercard Germany Managing Director Dr. Peter Robejsek said:

“We are delighted to be working with our partners to usher in a new era for one of the world’s most successful loyalty programs. The new Lufthansa Miles & More Credit Card offers cardholders a wide range of benefits – from secure and convenient payments to exclusive travel and lifestyle experiences.”
