Lufthansa Group appoints Kevin Markette as Senior Director of Regional Sales across South Asia

Lufthansa Group has appointed Kevin Markette as the senior director of regional sales. He will oversee the commercial activities across the South Asia region. This also includes the Indian market.

Senior director – regional sales, South Asia

Kevin has been with Lufthansa Group for over 20 years. Having worked in multiple continents, he brings over two decades of experience to his new role. He managed commercial, customer, and operations teams across America, the Middle East and Africa. Markette is very passionate about his job and as a senior director in regional sales, he plays a strategic and leadership role within Lufthansa Group. Some of his responsibility will include driving commercial success and market expansion across the South Asia region. This is especially true for one of Lufthansa’s most important markets, India.

Felipe Bonifatti, Lufthansa Group’s vice president in Asia Pacific and Joint Ventures East, said:

His sharp commercial insight and passion for our industry make him an invaluable addition. I am delighted to welcome him to Delhi, where he will lead all commercial activities for the Lufthansa Group in this strategically important market.”

About Kevin Markette

Kevin was raised in Spain and South Africa. He trained as a commercial pilot and began his career with Lufthansa in 2000. After joining Lufthansa in South Africa, he eventually managed pricing, reservations, and ticketing for Southern Africa. He later moved to Dubai in 2008, where he started his new role in Marketing and Business Development for Gulf States. He played the leading role in his new career and later became the country manager for Ghana, responsible for Lufthansa’s operations in Accra.

He served as the head of sales for Southeast USA, in Atlanta. Markette was responsible for six gateways operated by four of Lufthansa Group’s airlines, this took place from 2016 to 2020. Following his sales leadership role, Markette transitioned to head of customer relations for America, in New York. His role involved managing customer feedback strategy, service recovery, and commercial insights across North and South America leaving the role in 2022. Since then, he has been the lead general manager for East Africa. He later served as the General Manager for East Africa, leading commercial strategy and partnerships across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Burundi, and Rwanda.
