A LOT Polish Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400 has encountered a gear indication problem. The aircraft was scheduled to fly LO-3825 between Warsaw to Gdansk (Poland) with 75 passengers and 4 crew. SP-EQG was climbing out of Warsaw’s runway 29 when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet reporting a problem with the landing gear, the crew subsequently declared an emergency and requested runway 33 for landing. The aircraft returned to Warsaw, tower advised “winds 330 degrees especially for you, 13 knots” and cleared the aircraft to land on runway 33, the aircraft landed safely on runway 33 about 30 minutes after departure.

According to some sources, the crew received indications the gear doors had not closed. Subsequently, after extending the gear, the crew received an unsafe indication for the left main gear prompting the emergency declaration. The crew performed an alternate gear extension which locked all gear.

The aircraft in this incident (SP-EQG) was also the aircraft to have a nose gear fail earlier this year which resulted in an emergency landing as pictured below
