Air Serbia has expanded its business class offering on long-haul flights by introducing ice cream inspired by a traditional Serbian cookie as part of its onboard dessert options. It is now available as a regular offer for business class long-haul flights, and the ice cream will become part of the carrier’s long-haul catering offer on flights to New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), Guangzhou (CAN), and Shanghai (PVG).

Air Serbia new menu
The new ice cream chain, GRAM, was inspired by the ‘orasnica,’ a traditional Serbian cookie that is one of the most popular desserts on the Serbian national carrier’s menu. The item was first served on Oct. 1 on the JU500 flight from Belgrade (BEG) to New York (JFK).
Earlier this year, Air Serbia was reported to have had the strongest first quarter on record, carrying over 800,000 passengers between January and March. Higher passenger capacity results in greater demand to make further adjustments to the premium culinary menu. The Orasnica ice cream is not only an addition to increase Air Serbia’s brand identity but also to further enhance premium-class flying services.

How does this menu elevate the passenger experience?
Business class passengers can order the ice cream at any point during their flying experience, all part of Air Serbia’s dine-on-demand catering environment. By introducing a new ice cream offer, Air Serbia is further developing its long-haul dining options and business class culinary menu options. Last year, Air Serbia elevated its premium travel offering with the launch of a refreshed menu on its flights, and the push to increase the variety of food options is continuous.
Bojana Knežević, Air Serbia’s Head of Marketing and Guest Experience, said:
“We work continuously on improving the products and services in order to provide the best and most pleasant travel experience to passengers. By introducing the ice cream inspired by the Orasnica, we further expand the gastronomic offer for the business class, and we also showcase another authentic flavour that Air Serbia is known for.”
The new premium feature of ice cream on-board forms part of its efforts to develop the premium passenger experience on its longest services, and this effort goes beyond being a regional carrier.
