Air Serbia has reported its strongest first quarter on record, carrying 813,188 passengers between January and March 2026. This represents a 3 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Passenger growth supported by increased flights

Air Serbia operated 10,032 flights in the first quarter, around 5 per cent more than in the same period last year. The increase reflects schedule adjustments as demand continued to recover across the network. Capacity was added on key European routes, including Paris, Zurich and London, where passenger numbers remain strong.

Frequencies were also increased on regional services such as Podgorica and Tivat, which see higher seasonal demand. The airline has also improved aircraft utilisation by optimising schedules and turnaround times, allowing more flights to operate with the existing fleet. These changes, alongside network adjustments and seasonal routes, have contributed to the overall rise in flight numbers.

Record quarter despite industry challenges

The airline described the results as a new benchmark for its operations. The first quarter also marked the first time Air Serbia exceeded 800,000 passengers.

Industry conditions remain challenging, with ongoing pressures such as the conflicts in the Middle East affecting airlines globally. Despite this, the carrier reported stable performance and continued passenger growth.

Air Serbia’s first-quarter results indicate steady growth in passenger demand and operations. The airline is expected to continue expanding its network and capacity as it moves into the summer season.
