Latvian airline Air Baltic Corporation AS (airBaltic) is moving to Terminal 1 at Frankfurt Airport in Germany, effective March 29, 2026, to improve passenger convenience and connectivity.

Improved Connectivity on a Global Scale
Terminal 1 is Frankfurt Airport’s main hub for international flights, as well as flight connections. The move to Terminal 1 signifies that airBaltic is committed to offering greater convenience for international travellers. The terminal provides passengers with hassle-free transfers and seamless navigation for added comfort.
“Frankfurt is a key hub in our network, offering broad one-stop connectivity from Riga to destinations worldwide and supporting both business and tourism flows,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, the vice president of network management at airBaltic.
In addition to being convenient for passengers travelling on flights connecting at Frankfurt, Terminal 1 also provides efficient links for passengers travelling to and from the airport. The airport has rail links to various train stations, both regional and international, and is also accessible through its bus station.

Commitment to Convenience for Passengers
By being connected to over 80 destinations worldwide, airBaltic is committed to connecting not only Latvia but the wider Baltic region to the rest of the world. The airline operates on a hybrid basis, meaning it utilises qualities from both traditional airlines, and budget carriers, allowing for increased comfort and flexibility for passengers.
“By moving operations to Terminal 1, customers will enjoy quicker and easier connections to onward flights, as the terminal is also used by our codeshare partners,” Vrubliauskas said.
This move to Terminal 1 builds on the codeshare agreement between airBaltic and Lufthansa, which was expanded in 2025 to include flights between Riga and Frankfurt. The move is expected to improve accessibility and efficiency for customers throughout their journeys.
Flights from Latvia’s capital city, Riga, to Frankfurt operate daily, which adds convenience for both business passengers, and passengers travelling for leisure.
